They say I am mad
Is this because I look so sad?
They find me different from themselves
What they can’t handle, can’t be but bad
When I am silent they love to confer
But when I speak, I find them dumb
If my eyes are full of tears, they maul
But if I smile, their ire would not succumb
They say I don’t belong to them
To live with them I have to change
I have to breathe with their consent
And perhaps die of this rage

Madness is nothing but a term associated with a kind of behavior which is not usually practised in society. It serves to preserve the status quo. Any unusual act or idea is confined to a land of 'OTHERness' created by the very 'sane' people of the dull land of 'normality'.
Every great truth was first considered a blasphemy & every creative person is first dubbed as mad.
Here is the TRUTH:
"People laugh because I am mad
I laugh because they all are same."

When I was searching internet, I found your poem 'They say I am Mad' which I later read at the meeting and all the people from different countries really liked the theme 'n last words at the meeting were Great work Ammara......
